On behalf of the Mission, Abdullah Omar Mdala as an officer responsible for Educational Tourism on   08th May 2024 met Professor James Holness Executive Director of Recruitment and Partnerships in his office at British University in Egypt. The two discussed on the possibility of establishing a working relationship between the Mission and the University in the areas of  Scholarships for undergraduate and post graduate students,  xchange programes for students with higher learning Institutions in Malawi,  research and cultural exchange activities.
In his remarks, Holness said  that as the University, currently  they do not have any undergraduate scholarships going on, however, the University is considering of opening up its recruitment areas to sub Saharan African countries which includes Malawi especially on postgraduate students, He further advised that follow up meetings will be conducted as to map the way forward on how the university may collaborate with the Mission in the proposed areas.
The meeting comes after realising that Educational tourism continues to enable students to study abroad, learn about foreign cultures, acquire new languages, and have invaluable life experiences. The benefits of such educational endeavours are endless. This is why the Mission in its effort to connect with higher learning institutions as hubs for educational tourism engaged the British University in Egypt in order to discuss issues of common interest.
