Ambassador Kunje Attends Africa Day commemorations in Maad

On 24 May,2024 Her Excellency Ambassador Catherine Kunje joined other African ambassadors to commemorate the historic day in 1963, when African nations came together to form the Organisation of African Unity, the precursor to the African Union (AU). It is a day to celebrate the many successes and progress made throughout the continent while recognising each nation's challenges.
Speaking during the opening of the cultural sporting events on “Africa Day” Dean Ambassador Mohamadou Labarang Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon to Egypt said that celebrating "Africa Day" is a chance to demonstrate the variety of the African sectors, besides focusing on the skills of the African youth "the Future Continent.
On her part, Ambassador Kunje emphasized the importance of her county to this event as one of the African states residence in Cairo.
17 ambassadors and members of African communities in Cairo attended the event at Maad Olympic stadium. The activities of the day were finalized by a football match between different selected teams from African communities which included, diplomats, business people and university students among others.
